El Paso County Democrat Caucus/Assembly 2026

Support Zuri Horowitz for Congressional District 5 at Caucus/Assembly 2026 in March:

Zuri’s fighting for universal healthcare, affordable housing, and good union jobs.

She isn’t taking any corporate PAC, AIPAC or corporate lobbyist dollars.

This is how Zuri gets on the June primary ballot and she needs your help.

Note: The process is confusing, please ask questions if you have them at Zuri@ZuriforCD5.com

At Caucus: We vote for delegates to Assembly, people become precinct organizers and there are straw polls for candidates with primaries.

At Assembly: Delegates vote on whether Candidates will get on the primary ballot in June.

I need 30% of the delegate votes at Assembly to get on the primary ballot in June.

Do you qualify for Caucus/Assembly in El Paso County, CO?

You must be registered to vote AND affiliated as a Democrat at least 22 days prior to Caucus in El Paso County in order to participate.

Check your registration here.

If you turn 18 within those 22 days, you can still participate in Caucus/Assembly.

You can preregister to vote if you’re under 18.

I would suggest affiliating sooner so you have time to problem solve in case of snafus.

Note: There’s also a State Assembly for statewide candidates after Caucus and County/District Assembly but we wont get into that here (though you can ask questions if you have them).

This is the Congressional District 5 map, if you live within in those red dots you can become a delegate for Zuri Horowitz at Assembly and vote for Zuri at Caucus/Assembly:

Important Dates for Caucus/Assembly:

February 1, 2026: Affiliate as a Democrat: Register to vote/update registration here.

Let me know if you have any problems.

You can unaffiliate after Caucus/Assembly and still vote in either primary.

March 3-5th, 2026: El Paso County/District Caucus

March 14th: El Paso County/District Assembly:

Caucus: March 3-5th, 2026

You will only go to caucus for one day and your location is based on your precinct.

Check your precinct here and then look below to find the date and location for caucus based on your precinct number.

You can participate in person or remotely.

If you’re going in person, you can just show up, as long as you’re a registered Democrat in the correct precinct.

If you need to be remote, let the party know between 30-15 days prior to caucus.

At Caucus: People become precinct organizers, there are straw polls for elections with primaries, people become Delegates at Assembly eg the people who ultimately decide who gets on the primary ballot, (reminder Zuri needs 30% of delegates to vote for her to get on the ballot), platform resolutions for the state.
